DataScope Solutions

DataScope applications come in many shapes and sizes with varying degrees of functionality. One trait that all applications share is data can be shared through a common interface right across your organisation.

DataScope have addressed this by developing a web interface for users to access data. The user will typically log on to our secure web site using a unique username and password. This then loads a very small web program interface facilitating access to the data.

Utilizing our web interface allows us to present a common interface to all the users of the system, however remote they are. This has the added benefit of allowing seamless updates to whoever is using the system, without a costly programme of visiting each pc and updating software and licenses.

Customisation

DataScope will customize our interface whether it PC, Handheld, or the Web to suit our clients exact requirements at no extra cost. As part of our service agreement during the life of the contact, DataScope will commit to continually develop the system to suit all parties needs. Typical developments include:-

  • Commercial Reports
  • Health & Safety Reports
  • Logistics
  • Security
  • HR

Data is available ON or OFF Line

Our applications can be used whether you are online or offline. When they are online, they can provide an even richer experience. Data can be accessed from virtually anywhere, when they are off lines data is accessed through the Dative Reader module or handheld device.

However, one of the key aspects of our system is that they can work connected or not.

Connected to Real Time Data

DataScope applications are able to readily connect to and exchange data with systems across the enterprise or the internet. Web services allow solutions to utilize industry standard protocols such as XML, HTTP and SOAP to exchange information with any type of remote system. Visual Studio, the .NET Framework and the .NET Compact Framework make consuming Web services easier than ever before. Technologies such as Microsoft® SQL Server, Microsoft® Message Queuing (MSMQ) and BizTalk Server also provide readily leveraged ways to synchronize and exchange information between systems.

Offline Capability

DataScope applications work whether connected to the Internet or not. They can take advantage of local caching and processing to enable operation during periods of no network connectivity or intermittent network connectivity. This functionality is extremely valuable in this new era of mobile information workers especially given the cost, latency and speed of mobile connections.

Offline capabilities are not only of use in mobile scenarios however, desktop solutions can take advantage of offline architecture to update back end systems on background threads, thus keeping the user interface responsive and improving the overall end-user experience. This architecture can also provide cost and performance benefits since the user interface does not need to be shuttled too and from a server.

Our solutions can exchange just the data needed with other systems in the background, reductions in the volume of data exchanged with other systems are realized (even on hard-wired client systems this bandwidth reduction can realize huge benefits). This in turn increases the responsiveness of the user interface (UI) since the UI is not rendered by a remote system.

Intelligent Deployment and Update

In the past traditional client applications have been difficult to deploy and update. In an organisation with multiple work sites updating multiple PC’s can be a daunting task. It is not uncommon to install one application only to have it break another. Issues such as "DLL Hell" made installing and maintaining client applications difficult and frustrating.

However with a DataScope Web solution clients only need an Internet connection to access data.
