If security is important to your organisation, DataScope provide a biometric finger reader as a data collection option. This forms a way of eliminating "buddy punching", they also provide a secure means of identifying employees entering and leaving your premises.

It is possible to use our biometric finger readers in two ways:

Verify Mode: Your employees are identified by the reader but are also required to enter a PIN number or by swipe their cards.

Identify Mode: The reader alone identifies the employee and there is no need to use a secondary verification system.

FingerScan How it works

The Dative FingerScan provides a secure and accurate biometric means of recording and monitoring an employee's working hours. When a finger is enrolled the scanner sensor sees an image by a patented algorithm. This then extracts unique minutiae points from the image and converts the data into a mathematical template. This template is based the curvature and height of the ridges of the fingers minutiae points.

Please note no image is recorded the algorithm encrypts and codes the data in a minutiae a template.

FingerScan & Time & Attendance

On presentation of the finger the scanner compares this information with the "template" of the individual's print that has previously been stored. Once the person has been verified as a valid user, access can be granted.

As additional security the system can verify the data against the employee's swipe card or pin number to confirm their identity.

Personal data security

Personal data security : the reader never stores an actual fingerprint, instead it holds an algorithm which is a mathematical representation of the fingerprint. This is used to confirm employee identity. It is impossible to recreate a fingerprint from an algorithm, thereby ensuring total employee security.
